I was worried about the guard too, apparently, because I have another unfinished ficlet where he talks things out with Kharun until both of them are (relatively) okay. I mean, and then the wave hits and they all die. But I think it still does matter what you do in the last moments. I'm kinda touched that you're concerned for him. :)
