Wow, it never occured to me that any of Thorin's company could actually be a girl. At first I thought you misselled she instead of he, but Kili being a girl is a really interesting theory. I had to comment on that before the rest of the story, because it caught my attention. I especially enjoyed the connection you have drawn between the two dwarven families, of Fili (or later Kili) playing with a toy made by Bifur, and Bofur finding hope in the view of their new home. It really fits with the picture you used as a prompt.
