Thank you hhimring. And yes Calmacil is a mentor figure I have written about elsewhere. I hope he wasn't too distracting. ANd yes, the gathering of thatching is definitely a sort of ritual, the types of things I imagined the elves pre Journey, and probably other groups of elves that remained did. I love the Noldor and I am urged to reconnect them with their more fairie or earth based origins though I am not convinced that they weren't like this in Aman, though the general potrayal is that they are.
