Despite the fact I don't recognize most of the characters in this story, it took nothing away from the heart of it, nor the intensity.
So must all who wait in time of war, experience the distortion of reality. I could feel hearts beating with hope even as despair overwhelmed, yearning to be wrong when every other bit of body, mind, and soul knows the truth. Reading this was a bit of a wracking experience for my own heart.
And for a mother to discover a child she thought dead - lives - then died again in her view ... the sorrow just pours out of this story.
Beautifully envisioned and articulated from start to finish.
