Thank you so much. :D Writing this story wasn't easy, and I tossed out several different drafts before it finally occured to me that trying to flesh out some of my OFCs might be the way to go - but the notion of a survivor (of sorts) looking into the sunrise/sunset stayed fairly constant, probably because most of the survivors at the end of the First Age always come to live by the sea and make do there.. which is of course (on the most superficial level) what Mirwain, Meril and Alphangil are trying here as well. I'm very happy you picked up on the variation especially.
I'm fairly sure Mirwain will eventually see Gwindor again, but like you said, that is not going to be easy on either of their hearts.
(The reveal date was a fortuitous coincidence - I should have posted this much sooner, but I'm quite happy about this connection all the same.)
