Thank you so much, I'm so glad you enjoyed this! I have always imagined the Dúnedain much as you describe--they had to have held on to hope even in the darkest of times. Their lives are marred by grief, but that doesn't mean that they cannot find joy where it exists, as you say.
Ivorwen is my absolute favorite, and I'm glad I got an opportunity to write from her POV again. Her prophecy stands front and center in much of the fic I've written about her foresight.
