I'm so glad you mentioned Finnael--there was a part of me that worried that I sort of left her behind in the middle, caught between the bookends of the politics, but I care about her and her relationship with Ivorwen so much--the way Ivorwen doesn't really want to open up to her, because she's afraid of placing more burdens on Finnael, who's left to be a single parent (and to Halbarad and Nethril, no less), but Finnael sort of sensing that Ivorwen's building walls and wanting to reach through them.
