Back to Middle-earth Month

I did develop the script myself. :) I was auditing a class on Tolkien's philology last summer, and while listening to a lecture one night on Tolkien's poetry, I started doodling a Latin alphabet using the shapes and strokes of Tolkien's Tengwar versions of the poems we were reading. I'm going to eventually create and post a ductus so that others who do calligraphy can use it if they want. :) I was once involved in the SCA and apprenticed to a ridiculously talented master illuminator; I'm not playing in the SCA anymore, but my interest in medieval scribal arts hasn't died! :D My long-term dream/goal is to develop scripts and illumination styles for the major groups on Arda who might have utilized manuscripts.
