Your calligraphy is so beautiful, Dawn! My father does a bit calligraphy, and I always loved to stand at his side and observe him drawing each letter with so much care and love. Now I'm imagining you sitting there and doing the same, with these wonderful words.
And your story, Oshun: just wow. I can never get enough of Elrond, and having him treated in such skilled hands is a delight and treat of a rare kind. I love the time your tale spans, and, an how he remembers these difficult and special years with Maglor and Maedhros. Erestor, another of my favourites, is such a great character in your tale, as are, of course, the Feanor brothers (but what is new ;o) ), and I so enjoyed this glimpse into their family life for what it is worth. They make quite a good job of it, all of them, and no doubt is left that the twins were in good hands indeed, and not lacking anything important.
I found out later that morning that Maedhros was more competent at practical matters with only one good hand than Maglor was with two. *g*
The second part is much more light-hearted, and quite naturally so, and is another delight to cherish. I read your story not long after I had finished mine, and enjoyed it so much to see your take on Elrond's sons and their excellent and so different characterisations. Erestor is even more joy to read here, and his remembering with Elrond so fitting. Having Elrond reveal these feelings about Maedhros came as a surprise, but as a very pleasant one: I came to love Maedhros as a character mostly through your and Himring's stories, and I cherish each little bit of love and recognition he gets. Lindir with his cliché artist's behaviour was a hoot, and the asides on Celebrían and he parents lovely.
Assuming you got the best and not worst of all of that cross-breeding.” LOL!
