Thank you! I'm glad that even a non-Silm geek can relate to it - I didn't want to go too obscure in my story, and was slightly worried that I had choosing this setting. And I'm also glad that you think that both of them have a quiet dignity to them, because that's one of the things I wanted to portray them as having.
