As for how Tindómë is peredhel - she isn't really, but they found it was the easiest explanation to give to people.
Her origins lie a very long way back, and very far away - in a series of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but she has been in Middle Earth since the aftermath of the Ring War... Back in 2008 I set off to write a 'girl falls into Middle Earth' story with a credible reason for her doing so, for her to not become a 10th walker, not to have a romance with any of the Fellowship, and so on, as there were so many of that genre around at the time that annoyed me. And you know what they say - if that's what you want, write it yourself! Dawn was the ideal person to bring in because her very existence in the other series made the portal between two different fictional worlds easily believable.
Which is why, when they are posted at the big Buffyverse cross-over site, she is actually not an OFC!
