It's scary to see the Ring beginning to have its effect on Bilbo, and in such a deliberate way, too. The effects on Bilbo's mind were well described, dovetailed perfectly with canon, and of course were another glimpse into the cunning, self-preserving sentience of the Ring. You've done a good job of bringing to life what canon only told us.
