This is brilliant! It has this nice eerie tone to it, how he's so addicted to the ring yet it doesn't seem he's even aware of half the things he's doing. The ring is driving him to madness already, but he doesn't even sense it yet. To him, this is all an internal conflict on how much truth of his adventure to reveal in his stories.
