Exactly! They have to have something... special about them. Although Tolkien was probably imagining a more subtle sort of magic, instead of a gifted half-gardener, half-ninja type person with some carefully cultivated seeds.
(And of course, Orneredh has to be a bit snarky to keep sane. Her life is not easy. Meanwhile, Egalmoth is, of course, very Noldorin. At least, he sure dresses like a Noldo.)
