Thank you! I did almost include a reference to that scene between Merry and Eowyn, but decided to leave this story standing on its own. Also, I decided that I didn't want to commit one way or the other on whether Eowyn was still alive. I hope she is, but that other story hinted that she might not be - that the scene we saw then was the final meeting of Merry and Eowyn. For now, at least, I think I prefer that ambiguity.
