I can quite see how stressful it must have been for Adanel, Ivorwen and Dírhael to admit that the child would be safer in Imladris - and how that different life could well breed some resentment generally.
I can just imagine the effect of putting a new young male into the mixture must have been for the young women, and the urge of his elders to see him begin courting even though he is really too young, by their own reckoning!
