I really wanted Elrond in this story, it's a circle of fatherhood; since he was a father-figure to Arathorn in his capacity as foster father. I wanted the twins to appear, but it turned out that there wasn't room for them, so I assume they're helping Gilraen, chatting with Ivorwen, or have gone out on guard duty.
