*smiles happily* I am a real sucker for the Big Revelation Scene, in which the true identity of the incognito Important Person is revealed to the person who had previously underestimated them, so I enjoyed this one! I do hope Butterbur does indeed put up a plaque like that. (A blue plaque, like in London? A "by royal appointment" coat of arms on all his publicity?) Would future generations believe it, I wonder? I'm imagining a guide book written 800 years in the future, which refers to the ancient plaque that proclaims that the great King Elessar himself once drank here. The landlord and the locals swear blind that this claim is true, but what do they know? Obviously such an important person as the king would never have stopped in a common inn to drink a pint of ordinary beer. The very idea is ridiculous!
