I agree there are a lot of differences between mine and The Wavesinger’s stories, but having written this one, the similarities in the narration method/character’s actions at one point definitely leaped out at me.
I became interested in the three daughter kingdoms of Arnor during B2Me 2012, but I hadn’t had a chance to revisit that much since. Cardolan is probably my favorite, partly because of its creepy and melancholic factor, and partly because hills are my favorite landforms--so a lot of that went into my narrator's relationship to the land.
I used to hate Tom Bombadil, and now I kind of love him with the caveat that I'd probably not want to spend more than two minutes in his presence. That made it easy for me to write two characters' opposing opinions on him. It was also difficult for me to wrap my head around why Goldberry would stay with him, and I'm glad my eventual solution appeals to you.
