Oh, this is so, so beautiful. I got all choked up at the same time Maglor did, and a bit more than just choked up at what followed. *wipes tears away*
I love the understated but very real affection between Maedhros and Maglor as well, and the shining love between Fingon and Maedhros. And the characterisation of Fingon as the Traveller King - it's definitely something I can see him doing as the High King. I also like that you've drawn so well the dangers of the lands between Fingon and Maedhros in those years, and particularly enjoyed the details of the fighting between the Orcs and Fingon, all the more because I struggle with action scenes and yours are so clear and vivid.
And the song itself was so lovely - I could almost hear it playing in my head as I read it. And the bits about Fingon's wife and the Moon, and the bits of Ereinion in there - oh my heart.
