Username/nickname:dreamflower02, Dreamflower Location (as general or specific as you prefer): Oklahoma
Favorite characters: Hobbits, Gandalf, but I love most of Tolkien's characters How you participate in fandom (fic reading or writing, art, etc.): I read and write fanfic, write essays and meta on occasion, co-moderate several communities and one archive, create fandom related crafts and art Main interests in your Tolkien fanworks (characters, races, relationships, etc): Hobbits and the Shire in general are my main interest. I love thinking and writing about the culture of the Shire and family relationships. I also very much enjoy stories that take place on the various adventures hobbits went on. But I do also have a fondness for wizards, Elves, Dwarves and Men... Link(s) to your fanworks (SWG, MPTT, DeviantArt, AO3, etc.):Stories of Arda, MPTT, FFN, and AO3. The latter two also contain my tiny handful of non-Tolkien works. Oh, and I have two works at the SWG. Other fandoms you participate in: I read a lot of stories in other fandoms, especially HP, BtVS, and crossovers. But I've only written just a few stories for other fandoms, probably less than a dozen all told, all fairly short one-shots and usually written as a gift or for a special challenge. Other sites you use (Tumblr, Dreamwidth, etc.): I mostly use the ones mentioned and LJ. I don't even keep up my Facebook page; I do use DW as a back-up for my LJ, but usually only post there if there is a problem on LJ. Non-fandom interests: Crafting--especially calligraphy, polymer clay and various kinds of needlework and fabric arts; cooking; reading; gardening. How often and what do you post: Intermittently, depending on how things are going in RL. I occasionally post every day, but sometimes can go a month without a post. As for what, it's usually a mix of fannish and personal stuff; right now I am trying very hard to make one post a day about something thought-provoking or positive for Lent. How often you read your friends-list and/or comment: Daily. I'm a much more frequent commenter than poster. Friending policy: I will friend people whose posts catch my interest, and also I will eventually friend people back who friend me. Sometimes I don't realize that I have NOT friended someone, LOL! If I see them frequently in comments on my flist or in comms, I sometimes assume we are already friended. I hardly ever unfriend someone unless they've deleted their LJ, though if I have them friended under multiple accounts, I may cut them back to only one. To finish off: what’s your favorite Tolkien quote? Oh, I have so MANY! Some are too long to post here, but this is one of them: "The world is indeed full of peril, and in it there are many dark places; but still there is much that is fair, and though in all lands love is mow mingled with grief, it grows perhaps the greater." Spoken by Haldir to Merry, in Lothlorien, and as apt in our own world as in Arda.
