When I first read it way back when, my favorites were Gandalf, Frodo, Sam, Elrond and Galadriel. When first in the fandom it was definitely Legolas, and Elladan and Elrohir, a bit later Glorfindel and Erestor. When I changed to Silmarillion stories, favorites included Fëanor, Elrond, Finrod, my version of Oropher, Mablung, Beleg and lately I’m enjoying Glorfindel again and Ecthelion. My Númenor fic caused me to delve into Sauron as a character and I find him fascinating.
