Ouch! Thanks for clearing that up. You'll understand that I won't be able to change the painting now, but I'll take the lesson away to do more research the next time. Or maybe we can assume that the mammoth actually lived in the plains beyond the woods, but the Elves drove it into the forest to get it into an environment where it would be confused and ill-adapted for. That would make getting it into a trap even easier... ;)
