Oh yes, poor Ondoher and his sons. Pelendur was prideful and arrogant, I think - or perhaps a coward, not holding to his duty; he let the power of being Steward go to his head, and let the other nobles of Gondor influence his choice, rather than obeying his Prince's last command. So much strife could have been avoided if only he had allowed Arvedui to reunite the realms.
