Well, I seem to have a weird sense of humor, because when I saw the prompt "Full Moon", my first thought was that song, and how the Man-in-the-Moon was literally "full", LOL!
And of course, whenever I think of the Man-in-the-Moon in Tolkien's poems, ever since I read Roverandom that's the version of him that I always imagine!
I'm glad you think I caught the tone! I LOVE the tone of old-fashioned children's stories, where the story-teller seems to be a part of it all. Whimsical and a teensy bit didactic, but in a humorous way--Tolkien was good at it, though he himself did not appreciate it, I think it was delightful.
