Yes, but that WWII allegory theory has been contradicted so thoroughly that I'm not taking it into account. ^^ (And I expect Sauron would have more of a masterplan instead of more or less making stuff up as he goes along, but of course that's just one interpretation. Personally, I think even Ar-Pharazôn had an actual agenda beyond his own personal vanity. I can't actually think of any character who is that much of a wild card! ;))
