Poor Lotho, it really is easy to feel sorry for him. If you lust for something long enough, such as Bag End, or power, you can easily become its prisoner.
when Mr. White spoke it was hard to disagree with him. He always sounded so reasonable until Lotho thought about it later.
I like that idea very much. How interesting that the Professor gave such a potent, yet subtle, power to Saruman.
