Summary: There are multiple advantages to not sleeping, but Celeborn finds one better than the rest.

There were advantages to rarely being able to fall asleep.

Celeborn was able to do more work than most in his position could each day. He was free to enjoy the stars as they had been in his youth, at least on moonless nights. He was an elf, so at least he didn’t have to worry about dark circles under his eyes like Men did.

But the most important was being able to avoid Irmo’s domain more than most could.

Some might enjoy dreams, but they were torture to him, nothing but impossibilities and memories of a long gone past.
