Self-reporting may well be inflated for the reasons you say. But some of the click ratio on which you base your calculation for the inflation could be re-reads or people briefly checking out a fic and then coming back to finish reading or read more thoroughly later.
(And also, of course, more negatively, people opening up stories to have a look and then deciding this is not the story they wanted to read just now after all)
