Summary: Arwen writes a last letter to send to her family 'In the West', now that Aragorn has made his decision to die.

Dear Mother, Father, and Grandmother,

this will be my last letter to you for tomorrow my beloved husband will take the gift of men and leave behind his ageing body. I will take that same gift, as I chose to do when I bound my soul to his, and we will take this great journey into the unknown together in the spirit of our joint fore-parents Eärendil and Elwing.

I want you to know how much I love you all; without your love and guidance I would not have been who I am. And I know that I can truly say that it is, in good measure, thanks to yourselves that my beloved and I leave our city, our country and all of Middle Earth, a safer place than it was when we first met.

Think only of me with happiness, for that is how I think of you all, and I know that when I take the gift it will be as if to sleep and wake again in a new and exciting place. My only sorrow is that I will not be able to write to you all again to share with you whatever this new future holds for us.
