Summary: Ioreth's cousin writes about a storm.

My dear Ioreth,

Please write soon and tell us what life is like in the great city. Have there been any storms there since you arrived? I cannot imagine what the rain sounds like when it strikes only stone. There was a lovely rainstorm here the other day. It reminded me of when you and I were caught out in the rain and had to seek shelter near a boulder that was not nearly big enough for both of us; though this time I found a better shelter.

Your cousin,

Lothiel

The thunder over Lossarnach
Breaks loudly with a mighty crack;
Then comes the rainfall pouring down
Just long enough to soak my gown.

I shelter 'neath an apple tree
And safely nestled in its lee,
I steal a fruit and eat a piece,
And watch until the raindrops cease.

The clouded sky returns to blue,
And lines appear of every hue—
They form an arch across the sky
To celebrate the storm gone by.

I briskly walk back home again,
Through fields that shine with fallen rain.
The storm clouds in the distance tower,
Mere fragment of their former power.
