This is absolutely beautiful--very bittersweet. I love the quick, detailed glimpses of the different scenes, especially in Mordor and Harad, and how Maglor's attention fixes on small but significant things--the texture of leaves, the fingers of children as they play. I also love how he fist came to the seat searching for the Silmaril, but now seeks other things, as well. For me this piece captures what I have always seen as one of the most melancholy aspects of the elves--living through so many ages and seeing so many things fade and pass away, and after a while having the sense of living apart from the time. But the last line is beautiful, as Maglor is able to rejoice for the new beginning for Men.
