CAPTIVITY
It was a bad day - pouring rain, deep mud and screaming horses and men. Their losses were heavy as the enemy overran them. By the end of the battle, he was missing an eye, had many bleeding cuts, and was weak from blood loss.
He looked around the small chamber, barely large enough to allow him to sit with his legs bent; no height and no length to stretch. His mind wandered where his body could not - it was the bright lemon yellow of daffodils and the brilliant lime green of early spring growth that he missed most.
