B2MeM Prompt, Card and Number:o75: Whale (34-Blue), Tombs and crypts (103-Horror), An old inn (183-Story elements)
Format: Ficlet
Genre: Gen
Rating: G
Warnings: None
Characters: Maglor
Creator’s Notes (optional):I've written Maglor a lot, but haven't played in his playground this year yet. The whales and tombs were a perfect foil for our favorite musician.
Summary:Every year tourists in Puerto Rico take charter boats out to watch the annual humpback whale migration pass by. One of these boats is elven owned and operated.
A DECISION MADE
The bite of the rum hit the back of his throat and he sighed in relief. No fancy blue drinks for him - straight Caribbean rum on ice was his current drink of choice. He supposed it would change when he moved to a new location, but he had enjoyed the years spent in Puerto Rico.
He glanced over the familiar walls of the old tavern. Situated above the harbor, it had become his go-to venue after taking a charter of tourists out to see the humpback whale migration, which was nearing its end for the year. He thought it was time to move on, find another place and make another identity. He had enjoyed his time on the island.
Finishing his drink with a satisfied breath, he stood up. He felt like playing music, and his place of choice was the old cemetery, Santa Maria Magdelena de Pazzis, near the coast. The ocean's constant rhythmic rasp against the sands of the coast, and the many old tombs and crypts covered the sound of his flute. He could play the elven tunes of his youth without fear of discovery. 'It's a plan,' Maglor thought, and he tossed coins onto the table and strode from the bar.
