Summary: Fingolfin and Anaire engage in marital antics before dinner
Anaire's language turned uncharacteristically vulgar when the hairpin tumbled from her fingers onto the floor. The unborn child occupying most of her midsection would make retrieving it an ordeal even when she was already seated at her dressing table.
Nolofinwe effortlessly picked it up and offered it to her. “Do you need any help?”
She reminded herself that her husband was straightforward to a fault, and would never imply that she was about to make them late to dinner. “No,” she sighed as she jabbed the pin into her coiffure. “Why bother trying to improve my looks in my current state, after all.”
“Absolutely.” He leaned down and planted several kisses along the side of her neck. “You’re intolerably beautiful as it is.”
“Stop! You'll tempt me to make us very late indeed.” She already felt her blood rising.
“My parents will understand. And Feanaro could use a lesson in patience.”
They didn’t dally too long: formal clothing was pushed aside where necessary rather than removed, Anaire rapidly grew wet enough to allow him to enter her, and they pursued their pleasure with single-minded focus.
If they arrived at dinner a bit rumpled, not even Feanaro saw fit to comment.
