This was just lovely. There is no reason to assume that the hymn to Elbereth could not have originated from Maglor. After all, he was one of the two greatest musicians the elven race ever produced.

A while ago there was someone I knew in fandom who had what she called "Appendix G" - a set of fanfic stories she was convinced *should* be canon. It was always my deepest wish to earn a spot on that list. *g* So suffice it to say, being told "it has to be in one of Tolkien's notes" is high praise indeed. Thank you!

It's hard to believe there's anything original in this fandom, some days, but when I first wrote the idea I wasn't aware of anyone who had dreamed it up first. To me, it was one of those things that just made so much sense, I can't imagine it other ways. Glad you like the idea, and the story.

Very nice! There are many interpretations of this father-foster son relationship but I've always believed it is positive.
