Summary: On a hot summer afternoon, Celegorm’s mischief leads to an unexpected bath for both himself and his hound.
Celegorm's Cruel Servants
Celegorm carefully drizzled a fine line of honey from the ant hill towards his sleeping hound. Knowing that Huan would usually awaken at the smallest sound or lightest touch, he slowly extended his arm out as far as possible, continuing the honey path from the ground on over the great hound's flank. Huan carefully peered at the young man through a half-closed eye, then stretched and yawned, but remained relaxed, drowsing in the warm sunshine.
Shortly afterwards the gardeners were roused by the high-pitched squeals of laughter that Fëanáro’s young son made while his hound carried him to the nearby pond and threw him into the water. Huan then followed his master, striding into the water, paddling up to the spluttering boy and prodding him with his nose until Celegorm scrubbed him down. It was not until later that Fëanáro examined the evidence of the crime. He laughed while looking at the wreckage of the golden road that Celegorm's multi-legged servants had carefully followed.
