"I could've told them that!" Erchirion interrupted, and Adrahil settled a hand on his shoulder. "Go Navy!"

"But some neglected important matters," Adrahil continued, but stopped again at the puzzled stare that met him from under the lad's bangs. "Tarannon died childless--"

"Because Berúthiel was a witch!"

"Hyarmendacil's son initiated Gondor's decline--"

"Grandfather," Erchirion began, sitting upright, looking straight into his eyes. "You don't like the navy, do you?"

Adrahil restrained the chuckle, only just. "I do. But I like other things more. Someday you'll see that." Hopefully...
