B2MeM Challenge:  I18 – 5 Books 5 Chars, Thorin Oakenshield AND O72, Gondorian History – Fourth Age
Format:  Drabble
Title: Homework
Genre: General
Rating: G
Warnings: None
Characters: Eldarion, Faramir
Pairings: N/A
Summary:  A young prince has issues with his studies.

"Eldarion, your essay on the political ramifications of your father taking the throne needs work.”  Faramir put the parchment down in front of the youth.  “Try again.  Your last essay on the life of Thorin Oakenshield was much better.”

The young prince scowled at the essay and reluctantly reached for his quill.  “Thorin Oakenshield was a lot more interesting than a bunch of old men griping because things changed after the Ring War.  If he hadn’t wanted to reclaim the Lonely Mountain, Father probably wouldn’t be king now.”

“And you would be here at all.”  Faramir added firmly.  “Start writing.”

This made me laugh aloud. I like how Faramir is stern but fair.
