Graphics makers needed
Feb. 18th, 2015 09:18 amWe need several graphic makers to create banners for us, both participant banners (and icons) and to create small banners for the individual market stalls. When you create them, please email all banners to b2mem.mod@gmail.com.
~ must have "Back to Middle-earth Month 2015," "B2MeM 2015," or "B2MeM '15" somewhere on them.
~ Any size banner is acceptable. Icons should be 100 pixels by 100 pixels or smaller.
~ You must have permission to use any artwork or photography that you use on the banner/icon. This means that any artwork or photography used must satisfy at least one of the conditions below:
~ Any artwork or photography used must be suitable for all audiences, i.e., it should not include nudity, blood/gore, or anything more than mild sexuality (hugging, kissing, etc.).
~ Files should be saved in .JPG, .PNG, or .GIF file formats. Please use the Save for Web feature (or its equivalent for your software), if available, to keep file sizes manageable.
These also need to follow the above rules for graphics, save naming and the size. Stall names do not need to include B2MeM 2015 and they will be assigned so we don't have duplicates. Size should be 100 high pixels by 400 pixels wide. Please either leave a comment here or email us at b2mem.mod@gmail.com if you are interested in creating these banners.

~ You must have permission to use any artwork or photography that you use on the banner/icon. This means that any artwork or photography used must satisfy at least one of the conditions below:

Ooh! Those would be really useful, either as participant banners or for stall banners (though the stalls are Middle-earth location-based, so I'm not sure how well they'd actually work).

Date: 2015-02-19 08:20 pm (UTC)For the stall banners, we’re trying to make each stall identifiable at a glance, so the banners should hopefully have something to do with the location or the stall’s name.
Your stalls are:
Eärendur’s Souvenirs from the Downs (Arnor)
Denethor’s Armoury (Gondor)
This comment has a brief explanation of what we're looking for. I'm sorry for not having a better explanation available earlier.

Date: 2015-02-19 08:29 pm (UTC)I think I am interpreting that concept correctly: everything seems complicated to me these days.
Who is Mirë? Source?

Date: 2015-02-19 08:46 pm (UTC)As for Mirë: it's a random Quenya name I pulled out of Darth Fingon's name generator, so you didn't miss anything. Some of the stalls have canonical people "running" them; others don't.

Date: 2015-02-19 09:12 pm (UTC)"Noldorin Areas of Beleriand: Mirë’s Noldorin Artifaces"
I think one needs to see an explanation of the stall and the entire list?
I thought from what I could surmise from the original title and your explanation of it so far that an OFC named Mirë operates a market stall dealing with artifices created in Noldorin areas of Beleriand??
I am actually sincerely trying, but feeling like this is a guessing game.

Date: 2015-02-19 09:38 pm (UTC)The stall for prompts set in Ost-in-Edhil, Lindon, and related areas is named "Celebrimbor's Jewelry." Your stalls are for prompts respectively set in Aman (Vairë's Weavings) and in the Noldorin areas of Beleriand (Mirë's Noldorin Artifacts).
We named the stalls so they could match the marketplace theme rather than just being labeled "Noldorin areas in Beleriand" and the like. Each stall "sells" something different, hopefully something related to the location the stall is for. So the Shire stall sells produce, the Noldorin stall sells Noldorin artifacts, the Gondor stall sells weapons, etc. (Most of the stalls are listed in comments to this post if you want to see them; a handful were emailed to people.) Each stall will have a written explanation of what prompts should be in the stall; the banners are a visual indicator of which stall is which.
The only thing that needs to be on the banner is the stall name (this case, "Mirë's Noldorin Artifacts") and whatever photo you choose to use. The location information is simply so that you-the-banner-creator knows what location the banner is for and maybe to provide inspiration.
