Celebrimbor's Jewelry

Jewelry for all occasions. We specialize in rings. (This is the stall for prompts set in Ost-in-Edhil, Lindon, and related areas.)

Comments are now closed but you can continue using the prompts; no claiming is necessary.

How to Post your Prompts:

Leave a comment with the subject line identifying the main characters, gen/het/slash/femslash/poly (if it’s not obvious), a brief description of the prompt, and possible warnings if needed (MPTTor SWG’s). The comment itself should be the prompt.

If for some reason you cannot make a subject line appear, please write and bold the relevant information as the first line of your prompt.

The subject lines and/or bold text will allow participants to easily scan for prompts they're interested in.

For example:

Subject line-- Frodo and Aragorn, gen, hurt/comfort at the Field of Cormallen
Comment-- While Frodo is unconscious after being rescued from Mount Doom, Aragorn cares for him.

OR

Comment-- Fëanor/Nerdanel, wedding night, sexual content

On their wedding night, Fëanor and Nerdanel end up not sleeping at all, as they are too busy enjoying each other.

Remember, no fanworks are to be posted in the prompts posts.

All I care about is that they are working women who love their work and that the story reflect those passions and complications in their lives; romance is totally optional; femslash is always great (because there is never enough of it) but het relationships or no romantic involvements at all are fine also. I have a theory, which you may or may not share, that Noldorin women had broken through many of the old-school male-dominated ways of viewing things, especially once they reached Middle-earth. But a lot like women in professions and the workplace today, felt pressured to prove they were as good or better than the men they worked with. Just suggestions not requirements for issues to include.

Men are fine--they almost certainly need to be part of the picture. Ost-in-Edhil is not a ladies' world although I am sure their talent was important there and they pushed to be included at highest levels.

I have to acknowledge that Pandemonium's work influences me greatly.

I wasn't going to buy any prompts before March actually started, but I'm yielding to temptation. *hands over a farthing* I have two female Jewel-smiths who are stuck in work-in-progress limbo -- hopefully this will motivate me to get them out.

I would be all over it! That is for certain. Thank you for buying my prompt. I was afraid it would languish without takers.

Celebrimbor/Annatar, slash, bling

I have a weakness for this pairing, as ultimately horrifying as it is -- the close collaboration, the height of their creativity, betrayal, betrayal, betrayal, and a sticky end. Anything to that end would be welcomed as information on the whereabouts of the Three.

Thank you and goodnight.

I was a little shocked to see this bunny still up for adoption.

I'm sure it's going to chew on the leg of the table and pee on the floor when I get home with it, and probably gnaw on one of the other bunnies, but, why not. *tosses you a farthing*

The main character used to be a warrior a long time ago. Due to a lasting injury or trauma, past pain, angst, torture or whatever he no longer is able or willing to fight and has found an occupation which seemed very unlikely for him, or is perhaps something far below his social standing or something of this kind - but he found happiness and satisfaction in doing it.

The second character knew him in the past and meets him again now, suprised at the changes, perhaps not believing that he is really happy, perhaps trying to convince him to find a more suitable and fitting occupation. What happens now? Can they rekindle their old friendship or relationship? Or do they fall out completely? Or is the second character just glad to see him again and enjoys being together?

Gen, het or slash. Anywhere in Eregion, even in Rivendell.

I was only taking three prompts, but there's just something about this one. No idea what I'll do with it but.... :)

Once again, piggy-backing onto Kei (really, I'm not stalking you! :^D) but not surprising as she and I have shared interests in the legendarium...

Anyway, this prompt would fit in nicely with my continued world-building of Ost-in-Edhil, in particular the working classes (cf, the "Eagle of Iron" chapter of The Writhen Pool, so here's my farthing.

The response to the prompt may not exactly be prompt, however. ;^)

The Ladies of Gil-galad's Court, gen ?

Or, why didn't Gil-galad ever marry?

Let's listen in to the ladies of his court while at tea and find out...

He must have been under a lot of pressure from his council to marry and produce an heir, so why didn't he? Was he betrothed as a child (not all that uncommon among royalty) -- if so, what happened? Or did something else cause him to prefer remaining single?

At some point in the year.... I shouldn't buy anything but here, right at the end of the faire, this is still whispering to me so I suppose I have to.

With These Hands

Ost-in-Edhel is renowned for their craftspeople, but there was a large support population that allowed them to play with their forges and metals. Tell the tale of one or more of these support people - farmer, animal herder, even politician or guard. What do they get out of helping a population largely self-entrenched? And what do they think when the forces of war press against them? Do they stay? Do they flee? Where are their loyalties? - to their families, the crafthall, or maybe a clan leader? Speculate on the life of the common elf in magical Ost-in-Edhil.

If it doesn't get purchased, I might have to write it myself at some point.

Something with Celebrimbor and Narvi, involving the friendship between the Elves of Eregion and the Dwarves of Khazad-dûm. (Though I used the Ost-in-Edhil location, feel equally free to set it in Khazad-dûm.)
