Thranduil's Fine Wines

Featuring the only Authorized Dealer of Dorwinion Wine West of the Misty Mountains, as well as other rare vintages (This stall is for prompts set in or around Mirkwood/the Greenwood.)

Comments are now closed but you can continue using the prompts; no claiming is necessary.

How to Post your Prompts:

Leave a comment with the subject line identifying the main characters, gen/het/slash/femslash/poly (if it’s not obvious), a brief description of the prompt, and possible warnings if needed (MPTTor SWG’s). The comment itself should be the prompt.

If for some reason you cannot make a subject line appear, please write and bold the relevant information as the first line of your prompt.

The subject lines and/or bold text will allow participants to easily scan for prompts they're interested in.

For example:

Subject line-- Frodo and Aragorn, gen, hurt/comfort at the Field of Cormallen
Comment-- While Frodo is unconscious after being rescued from Mount Doom, Aragorn cares for him.

OR

Comment-- Fëanor/Nerdanel, wedding night, sexual content

On their wedding night, Fëanor and Nerdanel end up not sleeping at all, as they are too busy enjoying each other.

Remember, no fanworks are to be posted in the prompts posts.

In book canon for The Hobbit, the Wood-Elves feast in the forest, and magically disappear when any one of Thorin's Company sets foot into their circle. I would like to hear that part of the story told from the Elves' and Thranduil's point of view, especially how they pulled their disappearing act, and I think putting people to sleep at the same time, as well.

Oooh, I've been nursing a plotbunny in this direction for quite a while, so I'm purchasing this one! What a great prompt!

I'll try this one too! (I need to go through and check over which prompts I've bought already *lol*)

I'm not claiming this, but ever since I saw it, I have been hearing the subject line in my head, only to the tune of "Little Bunny Foo Foo"

"Thranduil and the Wood-Elves, feasting in the forest,
Picking up the Dwarves and bopping 'em on the head!"

Now that I have shared that, I will go away...

Legolas & Thranduil (maybe), AU, gen, Third age

From: [identity profile] me-llamo-berry.livejournal.com
Legolas has a twin sibling (brother or sister). What happened to them? Did they die? Did they run away? Are they still around? What are they like? What do they think of certain events? Most importantly... How does Thranduil treat the twin siblings? Equally? One better than the other? Possible genres: Family, hurt/comfort, angst

Optional requirements: My personal favorite headcanon is that Legolas is named after his mother, and in that case, her name is Laurelasse (may have misspelled that). As such, his twin should also have a name that ends in -las. But that's of course optional.

Legolas, Woodelves, Thranduil, (Fellowship, Boromir), gen, Mirkwood

I don't know if that happens in the Hobbit movies, but in 'The Hobbit', when Thranduil sees the mithril armour Bilbo is wearing ("wrought for some young elf-prince long ago") he comments that Bilbo is "more worthy to wear the armour of elf-princes than many that have looked more comely in it".
When Legolas sees Frodo wearing the armour after the incident in Moria, he recognises it as having been his own, and remembers - or even tells the Fellowship/Boromir of - his childhood in Mirkwood a couple of thousand years ago. Drawing parallels between Legolas' and Boromir's duties and responibilities would be lovely.

I haven't figured out 100% what to do with this, but I'd like to do something with it at some point, so here's a farthing!

Yay! That comment of Thranduil just stuck with me when I read The Hobbit and the Silmarillion and all, very much looking forward to what you make of it!

Modern day Thranduil fic

Gen/het/slash, whatever the choice may be. Any rating. Let's suppose that Thranduil has stayed in Middle Earth throughout the ages until the beginning of the 21st century. How can he find his way around the modern world as we know it? What are his plans for the future? Anything goes :) Let your Thranduil muse inspire you. Good luck!

Mirkwood does not have a very good track record when it comes to keeping people imprisoned. The Dwarves escape with help from Bilbo when Galion and the captain of the guard get drunk on some of the king's wine. Gollum manages to escape during an orc raid.

Expand upon one of these incidents in some way - or - another time when someone had to tell Thranduil that someone escaped - or - develop something more on Galion or the unnamed captain.

Or... have someone *not* escape, expecting they should be able to.

There is this fanon with Legolas’ mother being an Avari or Nando. I’d love to read her story, told from her own point of view. It would be awesome to have little Legolas in the story as well, though not overly cute or sweet, but in a realistic way.

Wood elves are known for their resonance with the trees of their forests, but it is documented that there was a movement of population from Dol Guldar to the new fortress and it is usually assumed that the fortress is actually underground or under hill. This is a dramatic move for a forest people. What did they do to help make such a shift tolerable for elves who need the open skies, flowing breezes and green leaves of home around them?

I'll take this! It fits perfectly to a small additional scene to my Dragonverse series about the Wood-elves. I was hoping for a prompt at B2MeM that would fit.

The House of Oropher aka the Mirkwood Royals

also known as: the Family Tree of Oropher and his son, Thranduil -- and *his* son, Legolas.

Although elves often have small families, it's very unlikely the entire Mirkwood/Greenwood royal line consists of only children of only children. Where are the others? Is Oropher's father (or grandfather) Legolas of Gondolin?

When Oropher and Thranduil left to join the Last Alliance, who was in charge? Did Oropher leave his wife acting as regent? Or perhaps a brother, sister, aunt or uncle? Is it possible that Thranduil is a younger son (the spare) and that the heir apparent (either male or female) was left to rule in his absence?

Have a farthing. :D

I always thought that the Elvenking's crown changing with the seasons was such a cool idea. But the only one we've seen on-screen is his autumn crown. Design his "crown of woodland flowers" for spring, or a different one for summer or winter! Can be inspired by the style of the movieverse autumn crown, or can be in a completely different style; go wild and design it however your heart desires!

Or the elk. Or whatever you want to call it.

Create something that centers around movie-verse Thranduil's unique choice for a mount.
