March 3 Prompts

Here are today’s prompts:

• 2006 -- In the "Tale of the Years" Tolkien tells us about what happens to certain characters each day of March 3019. We challenge you to write about the character(s) he does NOT mention: “Théoden retreats to Helm’s Deep. Battle of the Hornburg begins. Ents complete the destruction of Isengard.”


• 2007 (t_n_b) -- C: Like certain circumstances in the Citadel


• 2007 (SWG) -- And as they watched, upon the mound there came forth two slender shoots; and silence was over all the world in that hour, nor was there any other sound save the chanting of Yavanna. Under her song the saplings grew and became fair and tail, and came to flower; and thus there awoke in the world the Two Trees of Valinor.


• 2009 -- In two or three sentences, write about the happiest moment you've experienced in the past two days. Create a story, poem, or artwork based on the circumstances, experiences, or feelings associated with that moment.


• 2011 -- Some people have difficulty embracing changes and moving on. Write a story or poem or create artwork that shows the consequences of refusing to change.
