March 13 Prompts

Here are today’s prompts:

• In the "Tale of the Years" Tolkien tells us about what happens to certain characters each day of March 3019. We challenge you to write about the character(s) he does NOT mention: “Frodo captured by the Orcs of Cirith Ungol. The Pelennor is overrun. Faramir is wounded. Aragorn reaches Pelargir and captures the fleet. Théoden in Drúadan Forest."


• M: Like marrying Merry


• But as the host of Fingolfin marched into Mithrim the Sun rose flaming in the West; and Fingolfin unfurled his blue and silver banners, and blew his horns, and flowers sprang beneath his marching feet, and the ages of the stars were ended.


• What makes you the most afraid? How would you react if you had to face this situation? Think or write briefly about your greatest fear and how you would face it. Now write a story, poem or create an artwork where the characters have to confront their greatest fears.
