My Heart Will Have Wings to Meet You There

Unexpectedly, I am lifted up, away from the wild waves
that crash and roar beneath me; I have wings!
But I cannot turn back to my sons.
Forward then, to the Uttermost West
where my belovéd is bound.
May I find him
safe from harm!
Once more,
together.

I love this so much! :) But poor Elwing, and Earendil too, to be forever sundered from Elros, and to have so many Ages lost with Elrond.

I know. But I think Elwing truly believed that the only way to save her sons was to put the Silmaril forever out of the reach of the Feanorians.
