B2MeM Challenge: O68, Rangers of the North, "Fell Winter"
Format:Drabble
Genre:Gen
Rating:G
Warnings:None
Characters:Ivorwen, Gilraen
Pairings:None
Summary:The Fell Winter brings more hazards than the cold.
Ivorwen scraped a peephole through the ice coating the window. She looked out for a long time, then pulled on a fur-lined cloak. She pulled the hood over her head, then wrapped a scarf around her neck, covering all but her eyes. She picked up her bow and nodded at little four-year-old Gilraen. Gilraen opened the door, and Ivorwen stepped into the howling wind, swinging the bow one way and then the other. Assured, she hurried three steps to the woodpile, grabbed four logs, and hurried back inside.
Gilraen slammed the door shut.
“Thank you, child. No wolves this time.”
