B2MeM Prompt and Path: black and white (blue path: artwork)
Format: digital art, sketch with written copy
Genre: AU, humor, other
Rating: Gen
Warnings: no warnings apply
Characters: Olwë (more will be added as chapters are added)
Pairings: none so far
Creator’s Notes (optional): Chapter 1 – Swan Ships
Summary:
The copy for these are written by a reader who is on the mailing lists of far too many publishing companies. Why not use some of the dozens of prompts of yet another annual B2MeM to design book covers or ads, write ad copy, review, or draft summaries of books I would not be likely to write? I'm not writing any of these. Do not ask! But if you want to adopt any as plot bunnies, knock yourself out!

Ooh, this is a brilliant idea!! And I would definitely read this! (I'd like to write it actually, but it's way too far outside my comfort zone right now).

Cool cover!

(oh for pete's sake, three !'s. I'm getting worse)

Writers block? You too? We should form a support group or something. Isn't it ugly?

I don't want to, therefore I can't? I hadn't thought of it that way, but... it's possible, yes. Factor in a bit of stress and some family concerns and it makes sense.

I love this! It's a really cool approach to take.

*hoping for the annihilation of your writers' block too though*

Hey, I can be unselfish! :D I hope your writers' block is annihilated and you finish one of your WiPs! (I have ONE WiP--the Tamlin novel--and that makes me anxious enough.)

That's a really neat concept, Oshun!
And that hypothetical novel sounds fun.

*giggle* This is great! :D I can just imagine Olwë as some middle-aged elf who just have a peaceful job, but that damn kid (aka Fëanor) and those even dumber kids of his destroyed everything...

I like to think Olwë built better ships after the destruction too - I agree that it doesn't make it OK, but well, almost nobody gets to live in a world where only good or ok things happen to them, and sometimes all there is to do is pick up the pieces and start over. I'd rather not picture the elves as hopelessly stuck mourning for eternity, when they at least have more time than we do to fix things.

Heh, what a great idea! Looking forward to all the books you create this way. Olwe's ship building firm has me snickering madly! This is the kind of industrial/economy thriller that I can get behind! ;)

And I would dearly love to read this! Perhaps I should think of writing it... :)

Book blurbs for B2MeM is a really neat idea!

As is the blurb itself; I've wondered what would've happened after. (No desire to write it, but I have wondered.)

Can I just say, this idea is just brilliant. Also, the "Swan Ships" blurb captures the sort-of weird drama advertising of these kinds of books (I'm not even sure what genre I'd put this in, though it feels all too familiar to me - economical drama?) all too perfectly.
Looking forward to more of these as I go through the tag :3
