I don't think I've ever seen this kind of painting before! It's really interesting how it came out - I can just see the power in the Song! :) And I love the quote you chose to illustrate.

Although I've never pictured Luthien this way, the power of such a song, and the effort involved, clearly come through here.

No demure elf-maiden this one.

Nopes, and a special no to flimsy elvish women on the day like today. They were powerful, independent, strong, and some of them were ultimate badasses, who took no shit from anyone.

Wow! So that's how a song looks that can sing down walls!

Luthien was not exactly a fragile little violet, was she? I think this is appropriately intense. Great conception and outstanding execution. Really like it so much!

Fantastic! It looks like it should be an album cover!
I love how you depicted Lúthien's raw power - a song that no walls of stone could hinder, indeed!

That is the woman who could crumble stone and steal a Silmaril from Morgoth's crown. Oh yes, yes, I know Beren is the one who physically removed the Silmaril, but he was just the (good looking) sidekick, she was the Power who sung the Dark Lord into a temporary coma.

Great work!

Oh my god, she's so fierce, I love it! Just look at her, no wonder she took Sauron down! Such power and strength, and she's giving it her all.

Oooh, all that power and sound and intensity! I can literary hear the walls vibrate under the sound of her voice. I love to see her so powerful here.

I am in the midst of reading this chapter while collecting references to narrators, etc. and it struck me while doing so what a badass Luthien is. Tolkien cloaks her (pun. ha.) in this fairy-tale glamour, but I imagine she was more than capable of being just like you show her here. After all, this is a woman who brought Sauron to his knees.

A stunning, surprising, heretical piece--I love it! :)

This is such a fierce look for her, but fittingly so! A very powerful portrait, and I can't help thinking closer to life than the idea of a gentle, tame song (which would have its own power, but this breaks with some stereotypes surrounding her, so I like your interpretation a lot, too.)
