Creator’s Notes: I rolled an act of kindness as my wild card - and this has been done! This follows Dark Is The Night For All and is, again, written to also fulfil a prompt at tolkien_weekly.
Summary: Their ships have been stolen, their dead hardly buried...




Before the coming of moon or sun, as we learnt to mourn, Nolofinwë and his folk remained. Waiting for the ships they said. Our ships.

They were, to us, like animals circling, waiting to dash in and snatch their prey. When they saw Fëanáro had betrayed them they wept; as if we would have let them take what was ours again.

Some of them thought then that we would build them more. Us, build for them, when we had scarce finished counting our dead?

“Build your own,” we said. “Even you could build a raft. Build your own… or walk!”

Oh yes! So very true and it fill two story prompts at the same time, you clever person! I like the feelings of anger from those still living in Alqualonde. This is very beautifully rendered.

Thank you so much. I forgot to say that it follows on from the earlier pair, but that is exactly how I wanted them to come over - grieving, angry and,as you say, contemptuous of those who simply expected to be able to get into the same ships Feanor stole!
