B2MeM Prompt and Path: Meta on Fandom (orange path)
Format: I don’t know, statistics?
Genre: nonfiction, meta
Rating: n/a
Warnings: n/a
Characters: n/a
Pairings: n/a
Creator’s Notes (optional): I had a request to look at the numbers again at the end of the month and see if anything had changed, and I thought other people might also be curious.
Summary: A quick update to my earlier post on B2MeM statistics.
As I said in my earlier post, the numbers here are from all the posts made to the b2mem comm, 2012-2017. The changes have been minor, which isn’t surprising; my last post was made on March 21st, and the posts made since then are a relatively small fraction of the total B2MeM output. I won’t say this is the final ranking, since people are welcome to continue posting works from B2MeM 2017 over the next weeks, months, or years, but here are the current rankings (as of April 13, 2017 at 6:15 p.m. EST).
Characters
#1. OC (339)
#2. Aragorn (230)
#3. Maglor (148)
#4. Maedhros (103)
#5. Faramir (101)
#6. Frodo (99)
#7. Sam (85)
#8. Elrond (74)
#9. Gandalf (67)
#10. Arwen and Pippin (64)
The most popular character list is largely the same as before. Faramir and Maedhros have switched places, while Arwen has moved up slightly from #11 to tie with Pippin for the #10 spot, which he formerly held alone.
Format
#1. drabble
#2. ficlet
#3. short story
#4. chaptered
#5. poetry
#6. art
#7. digital art
#8. rec list
#9. essay
#10. drawing/sketch
The first seven are the same. The last three have changed slightly; they were formerly #8. drawing/sketch, #9. vignette, and #10. rec list.
Genre
#1. gen
#2. drama
#3. family
#4. humor
#5. romance
#6. angst
#7. character study
#8. gapfiller
#9. friendship
#10. hurt/comfort
The first three are the same. Romance and humor have switched places (they were pretty close before). #6 and 7 are the same. The last three were formerly: #8. chaptered, #9. poetry, and #10. gapfiller (which has moved up a few spaces).
EDIT: I have belatedly realized something doesn't look right in the genre list in the first statistics entry I made. "Chaptered" and "poetry" are supposed to be under format, but I accidentally repeated them under genre the last time! My eye must have skipped somehow when I was compiling the lists the first time -- my apologies.
Path
1. purple (74)
2. red (70)
3. blue (57)
4. green (52)
5. yellow (27)
6. orange (18 - or rather 19 once I post this!)
The red and purple paths have switched places; the other rankings are the same.
And that’s all! It’s been a pleasure to see how many wonderful works have been posted (and continue to be posted) for B2MeM 2017.
